30 rolls

I picked up 30 rolls of film from the lab yesterday and selected one favorite image from each roll to share today. Photos spanning the past month; from rainy Maine to balmy Florida. From wide open Montana to sweet Home. Photos of: A kitty and a girl who won’t be a girl much longer. Rainy day yarn braids. Brand new parents. The sweetest baby girl in the world and newest member of our family. Beer belly twins. A boy who loves to be a prune. A dog named Riley. Vows on an evergreen lake. One graceful flower girl. Sparkly shoes. A warm embrace. Captiva pier. Folk art map. Baby blue round shades. Ceremony song sung by Dad. Really tan legs. Sprinklers and teepees. More braids. Cowboys welcome. The bunkhouse. Nicole the bride. The perfect veil. Nervous tears. Nervous giggles. Sticky Sprinkles. Best groomsman outfit ever. Lace. Wade in the water. Shadow play. The most scenic mind-blowing viewpoint.

maine maritime academy

Wrapping up a busy week at the Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, Maine. Each year when the maritime students leave for summer a group of miniature artisans from all over the world replace them on campus. There is a wide variety of classes and events offered during the week. Jon’s been teaching raku pottery for 6 years running. This year the weather wasn’t great but Jon’s pottery students were more productive than ever! Today is their final raku firing before we pack it all up. Other students will be busy staining cabinets and tables, painting fur on cats, gluing legs on sofas, putting final details on folk art boxes and adding cords and dials to vintage wood radios. All of this in miniature! If you would like to learn more about the school visit the (IGMA) International Guild of Miniature Artisans website for info on the Guild School. It’s like adult summer camp for crazy “little people” (as the local folks around here like to call us).
