Taylor has worked as a wedding planner for years which meant she had no shortage of wedding ideas. Although her biggest inspiration came after a conversation with her Grandma. From Taylor- “My grandmother told me about how they had a sweet afternoon wedding at their church, followed by a cake and champagne reception. And I thought, why did that ever change? That sounds AMAZING; affordable, low stress, and to the point. Since we are very practical people it seemed like the perfect solution, so cake and champagne on a Friday afternoon it was!”
After their guests left with their bellies full of the three C’s (cheese, cake and champagne) we took off from The Marvimon for a photo adventure on Olvera Street and Chinatown. It was such a different and fun experience to shoot most of our portraits after the wedding. I’m still regretting not buying that Frida Kahlo mug at a booth we passed.

Early in fall we enjoyed an overcast evening with perfect light and a perfect couple. Everything clicked when we met up with Kristine and Justin for their engagement session. We did more chatting than snapping; we talked about everything from cats and cars to Hawaii and allergies. But what we loved most was hearing about their love for their families and how Justin’s Mom has completely adopted Kristine as her own. Their wedding next summer in Seattle is bound to be joyful and beautiful.
