I have always had a thing for performers, from ice skaters to ballerinas. I love watching them in the spotlight and often wish I had a glittery costume of my own. I have read that the Leo (my astrological sign) would do quite well with life on stage. At times as an adult I feel like a lost lioness who hasn’t found her starring role. But I love to watch bold performers who have found their place. When I was eight years old I danced around the living room in fuzzy pink slippers singing "Let’s get Physical" by Olivia Newton John and remember feeling like a star. Around that same age I announced to my family "when I grow up I want to be a dancing lady that wears red balloons and pops them one by one." Apparently I had watched some stripper action on TV without anyone knowing. The truth came out when I made my stripper aspirations publicly know, I just thought the lady looked like she was having a great time!
We photographed the Firefighters Ball on Friday, the theme for the evening was Winter Blaze. My favorite part by far was the Fire Dancers! Jon got some really great shots of the action while they danced and burned away. I wasn’t very helpful, instead of shooting I kept staring in amazement. Wondering to myself, how does one become a fire dancer?!?
Great job on the photos Jon!
