From Katie about the big day- “We feel incredibly lucky that we were able to plan the day exactly how we wanted it. We wanted to throw a party, and planned the day around making sure everyone would have a good time. We wanted a causal “garden party.” The day was exactly how we wanted it, we had such a wonderful time and wish we could live the day over and over again! We gave hardback copies of the Prophet by Khahil Gigran as wedding favors because an excerpt was read during our ceremony and it’s one of my favorite books. I couldn’t have done it without my Mom. She spent countless hours ordering old copies of the Prophet off of the internet (I insisted on hardback). She stayed up many nights before the wedding putting the books together with the custom bookmarks. There were many little special touches at the wedding, and they could not have been executed without her. I had such a blast planning the wedding with my Mom. My favorite moments of the day were seeing Matt for the first time. Being married by my uncle which made the ceremony extra special and personal. The quiet minutes alone with my dad right before he walked me down the aisle. I’ll never forget the moment he looked at me and said “this is the happiest day of my life. I’m so proud of you.”
