it’s funny how some of us spend all kinds of money on wonderful new digital cameras and beautiful expensive lenses. and of course we love the quality and versatility they give us. but maybe, just maybe it all seems a little too perfect and clean sometimes. some folks change things in photoshop and make their perfect photos a little more textured or dirty. others revert back to an old favorite camera when they need a little imperfection.
i just kept carrying around my hasselblad along with my new digital camera. feeling like a parent that must divide her time evenly between two. now there is a third member in the family. he is huge and a little heavy, upside down and totally goofy. meet big papa. i am still getting use to him, but i can tell we are going to have a lot of fun together!
big papa is all jon. he is actually jon’s new baby. i would never think of taking apart an old camera and using the funky old pieces to build my own lens. but this is exactly how jon thinks. and this is why i am so incredibly lucky to have jon as my photo wingman. all the shots above were captured this weekend with jon’s new homemade lens (aka big papa).
