A few years ago in order to simplify Christmas day we started hosting a very happy UN-Christmas celebration for my family. So we now celebrate Christmas either prematurely or ridiculously late! Often the Un-Christmas celebration gets delayed until February and my tree is either dead or gone. But this year we decided to celebrate early, so I had a lovely fresh perfect tree for everyone to enjoy this weekend! We simplified Christmas even more by deciding to bypass the gift exchange. But since the Gilson girls love to give gifts we focused our energy on Joel our baby cousin. Joel’s 1st birthday is right around the corner so our “Christmas” morphed into a sweet little 1st Birthday party. My sister made over 50 adorable cupcakes for 15 people! I gave fondue a whirl for the 1st time (cheese and chocolate). And the grand finale was Jon’s “Blue Man Group” drum solo with our light-up drumsticks from Disneyland! The photos don’t do the drum solo justice but my nephew Reece was digging it, his eyes were so big throughout the performance! Perhaps Santa should bring someone a drum set this year? Am I that evil of a sister?

You’re laughing now, but wait until Santa delivers the
drum set and light-up drumsticks……
