"Each friend represents a world in us; a world possibly not born until
they arrive, and it is only in meeting them that a new world is born."
-Anais Nin
Meet Cory and Ember, two of my best friends. At a wedding this summer while enjoying their company I looked down at their shoes. I noticed how different these two special girls in my life are and quickly snapped this photo.
Cory is laid back and all about keeping things as simple as possible. She has hiked to the top of a couple mountains, biked to a sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica and loves shanty towns. I can count on her to talk me through any problem or conflict I am dealing with. She makes me giggle at random moments when I probably shouldn’t be giggling at all.
Ember is an artist in all aspects of her life from cooking dinner, working in her garden and raising her beautiful boys. Ember has lived in Rome, revamped three houses, and has been my shopping spree sister since 6th grade. I can always count on Em for an honest opinion from clothes to business. She makes the ordinary details of life so wonderful with her funny, in depth narrative stories. She makes me laugh out loud every time we are on the phone together.
On my long drive down to Medford, Oregon to be with my Mom in the CCU at the Cardiac Center. These two were on the phone, checking in, giving me support regularly. Each giving me something I really needed. Cory was all about the positive thinking and looking at the facts, while Ember was sympathetic and worried with me. Life is so sweet with friends like this!
