Andrea and Tyson are two midwesterners that moved west and became enamored with the Seattle area. I know this type well, my dad is one. Relocated midwesterners in the northwest never take the mountains for granted and rarely complain about the rain. Whenever we are experiencing “extreme” weather they laugh at the news, often topping the breaking news with their own story about hail as big as grapefruit pounding down and denting every inch of the family car. Since Andrea and Tyson love being outside in the northwest, they wanted the outdoors included on their wedding day. They decided to split the day in two and have the ceremony outside in Parson’s Garden and then bring the party inside to a modern and perfectly blank warehouse space at 415 Westlake. I shopped and shopped and shopped. And shopped for the perfect dress. In the end, the quilted dress I found at Belltown Bride was the perfect hybrid of classic with a twist of odd. My experience was similar to when I go shopping for vintage clothing where so often a dress looks terrible on the hanger but if you just give it a chance, and try it on, it comes to life . The quilted dress was nothing short of bizarre on the hanger, this intrigued me. When I put it on I smiled in delight. 
The most memorable moment was hands down our ceremony. The entire experience was so profound and special to me. We chose Parson’s Garden on the top of Queen Anne, the park is something out of a storybook with it’s petite size, the trees and flowers that encroach make for an extremely intimate and magical setting. This is the same park where Tyson proposed to me. It was a special place for us and it was nothing short of magical to be married there. We put out blankets with baskets of fruit and lemonade and our guests were encouraged to either sit or stand. When I stood there next to Tyson and said my vows, all of the people who are most special to us were intimately close and surrounding us. It was truly remarkable.
After the ceremony Tyson and I and our wedding party were whisked off in pedicabs to Shorty’s Pub, a watering hole that has many special memories for us. For the reception we brought in Top Pot Doughnuts because we are obsessed with them and set up a giant doughnut bar as our dessert. We served beer from Sonoma Springs Brewery (which just so happens to be Tyson’s brother’s brewery) out of custom made pint glasses that were also gifts for our guests. We brought in a food truck and had our friends arrange farmer’s market flowers. So many details were chosen because they represent us and our favorite things. 
While writing about our wedding it has been so fun to reflect back on our big day full of our favorite things and all of our favorite people. What a day!
